SABHA ADVICE

Updated: Jul 3, 2020

Every sabha has their own sets of rules and processes, when it comes to selling tickets. Audiences have no choice but to follow and try and keep track of when to buy from where. To make things easier for you, I've spent the better part of a day calling and cross-checking these suggestions, with the major venues. And if you need to know which sabhas have parking, just read on. Hope this helps!

Bharat Kalachar: Tickets are available for sale in advance only at the venue between 10am and 7pm. Tickets are INR 300, INR 500, INR 1000 and INR 1500. This is an outdoor auditorium but is relatively comfortable.Selected concerts are available on www.bookmyshow. Limited parking available at the venue. Ph: 04428343045

Brahma Gana Sabha: Tickets are available for sale in advance at the venue between 5pm-8pm. Selected concerts are available on www.bookmyshow. Limited parking at the venue. Ph: 9444444767

Indian Fine Arts: Probably one of the most reasonably priced sabhas at Ethiraj Marriage Hall, on TTK road, Alwarpet. There is no air conditioning and seating is on plastic chairs. The tickets range from INR 100 - 1000, except on only Dec 20th (Sanjay Subramaniam) and Dec 21st (Yesudas), when tickets are INR 200-1500. Tickets are available at the ticket counter at the venue, and can be bought on the day of the concert or in advance. Valet parking available for evening concerts at the venue. Ph:7845755481

Krishna Gana Sabha: Tickets are available for sale in advance only at the venue. The ticket counter opens at 10am. Ticket price range from INR 200 - 1250. Though the days Sanjay Subramaniam, Ranjini Gayatri, Bombay Jayashree, Yesudas and Rajesh Vaidhya perform, tickets are INR 300 - 2000. Selected concerts are available on www.bookmyshow. Very limited street parking available at the venue. Ph: 04428140806

Kalakshetra: Tickets are available in advance only at the venue. Ticket counter is open between 10am and 5pm. Parking available at the venue. Ticket prices range between INR 100 - 500. Ph: 04424520836

The Madras Music Academy: Tickets can only be bought on the same day of the concert you wish to attend. Counter opens at 9.00am. On the day of the major concerts such Sanjay Subramaniam, Ranjini Gayatri and Bombay Jayashree, counter opens earlier at 6.00am. You have to get tokens at 6am and then come back later at 8am to purchase the tickets. Having a token does not guarantee getting the tickets you want. Ticket prices range from INR 100 - 1600. Valet parking available for the evening concerts. Ph: 04428112231

Mylapore Fine Arts: Tickets are sold only one day in advance to the concert at the venue. Ticket counters open between 9-11am and 3-8pm. Limited street parking available at/near the venue. Ticket prices are INR 200-500. Ph: 04424997755

Narada Gana Sabha: Tickets available only one day in advance to the concert at the venue, counter opens at 9.30am. So if you want to attend a concert on the 20th, tickets will typically open on the 19th. Tickets range from INR 60 to 600. Limited parking available at the venue. Ph: 04424993201

Parthasarathy Swamy Sabha: Tickets are available in advance at the venue. Ticket prices range from 200 to 1000. Ticket counter opens at 8am. Very limited street parking available at the venue. Ph: 9444701446.

Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha: Tickets are available for sale in advance at the venue between 9.30am and 5pm. Very limited parking available at the venue. Tickets begin at INR 200 - 1500. Ph: 04428152166

Parking: For the places that have limited parking I highly suggest one uses Uber, Ola or an auto. Or if you have a car, then hiring a call-driver service for the evening is a good idea, so you don't have to worry about parking. Another option would be to hire an NTL Cab for a 4 hour package - 04440008090. This feature to book by the hour is also available on Ola and Uber.
